Ok this is like the time where Uni students start complaining about the amount of work they have.. haha.. ya so hear me !! I think I have the most amount of readings compared to my friends. Am struggling to finish that what is called 'The Woman in White' for lit. Just finished reading and analysing the poems required for the tutorial tomorrow. I've also finished reading the play 'The Cherry Orchard' by Chekov for acting class tomorrow.. such a boring play.. arrgh ! and I cant even pronounce half the names of the characters [they are Russian names] I've only done 2 out of the 7 readings about Spain and Portugal for Empires. Yet to read last week's Roman Gladiator reading for sport and History and this week's Meso American Ball Games as well. Psychology ha.. 5 chapters of that too.. well actually 3 lah.. cos the 1st chapter is rubbish and the 2nd chapter is about the nervous system which I am extremely familiar with. ha. there u go.. my workload.
on other school related stuff, today had empires and psychology tutorial. For Empires, we watched a video on Cortez and montezuma, Cortez was the Spanish guy who like conquered Mexico for the Spanish Government. The funny thing was that the Spanish government din ask him to do so. He did it on his own initiative and asked them for permission to do so. They said yes so he went ahead. Montezuma was the tribal war chief/ king [historians still debating on this] of the aztec civilisation. He believed in the prophecy that one day the reincarnation of some God supposed to have fair skin and red hair would come back and take over his kingdom. Montezuma thought Cortez was the God and Cortez kidnapped montezuma demanding for a ransom. ha... Psych tutorial was an eye opener.. we learnt about visual perception and how the right sphere of the brain takes a greater role than the left in visual perception and the left vision is connected to the right sphere and the right vision connected to the left sphere. So what we learnt after a series of experiment was that the brain processes the left visual spectrum. which in the case of faces, when u look at someone, the left side of his face is processed by your brain and that is how u recognise a person. If you just look at the right side of the person, you may not be able to recognise him. That is why you appear to look different in the mirror and in photographs. cos in the mirror, the left vision spectrum is ur left sided face but in the photograph, the left vision spectrum is ur right sided face. Ok I may appear to be talking rubbish but ha.. interesting..
