THE ZOO !

Last Saturday was SIA's Family day at the zoo.. so Rachel had free tix to the zoo (since she works in SIA) and she shared one with me.. ha.. so I met Tabi in the morning and we headed to the zoo.. everything was free.. like typical singaporeans, we were ecstatic at the freebies and were thrilled at the free shuttle service to the zoo from Yishun Interchange.. then we proceeded to enter the zoo free of charge.. and got a KFC meal also for free. haha.. I really sound cheapskate right? anyways.. Tabi and me were more interested in the animals and proceeded to walk around the zoo .. Rachel was more interested in the lucky draws in the SIA tent.. so we parted and tabs and I were our usual crazy selves, taking photos all over the zoo and commenting on every single thing ... well for me it was how sleepy and 'dead' the animals were.. for tabs it was a whole different thing.. she was commenting on why people shouldn't bring new born babies to the zoo and gave menacing looks to the people pushing baby prams which either blocked or way or expected us to move to the side to let them pass.. after a while i joined in.. some people can be so rude man.. 'excuse excuse' .. its 'excuse me !' and people were happily cutting the queue and chope-ing places with mineral water bottles.. me and tabi just kicked the bottles to the ground and acted obvilious to the stares given by the owners of the bottles.. and then kids started blocking our view of the polar bear feeding even though the keeper was like telling them to squat and dun stand against the glass.. how annoyinG ! Tabi and me kept saying 'OI ! sit down lah' arrgh.. ya other than that, it was a rather fun day at the zoo..

POST 100 !!!


I shall start off this post informing all readers that today, I logged on to IVLE and checked the class roster of the nation building module i got.. and surprise surprise.. i saw the name 'Andrea Veronica Fonseka' haha.. ok for those of u who have no idea who she is, she is the Ms Malaysia Universe 2004, currently one of the 26 girls on deal or no deal and the future host of 'Live the Dream' .. well actually its no big deal.. but then again.. things like these do not happen everything and gets a worthy mention on my blog..

On other news, Yesterday I had a wonderful time eating dinner at JB with some fellow church people.. thanks Naomi akka and Charles Anneh for inviting and bringing me along.. Shamala also came... its been really a while since I saw her.. shes gonna get married soon.. the first of my friends.. well actually Shamu was the first.. anyways.. she looks nice with her new haircut.. she said that I was one of the few who liked it.. ha.. Oh ya i almost forgot, I finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.. it was a really incredible book.. the story ends with a mega bang !!! its the best book among all the 7 books ..

About my modules, only nation building is confirmed.. am still yet to decide on what to do.. its really annoying.. can't decide.. sigh sigh.. God help.. show me which modules to take.. I'm so undecided..

VACANCY

watched this movie last fri.. was ok i guess.. not a fantastic must see movie.. but it was thrilling and entertaining.... I am so gonna watch all thrillers with Stef from now on.. she was like screaming and grabbing liting and me during all the scary parts and it was really funny to see.. hahaha..

on other news, I'm still undecided on what modules to take.. ya even though school starts in 3 weeks.. it doesnt hurt to prepare early.. I think i've nvr been put in such a dilemma in choosing my school subjects before.. in sec school I've always known i wanted to do bio and history & disliked physics.. hence ended doing pure Chem bio history & lit.. in JC although i was torn between science and Arts, i thought of keeping my options open and do science hence doing bio over history.. then in Uni, wanted to do something bio related.. but was offered FASS.. prayed abt it and decided to do either EL or History in Uni.. then in Sem 1 i knew the modules that interested me and did history, english, theatre, south asia (cos its a requirement) and complementary med and health (cos shan was doing it) .. in Sem 2, my history modules were the obvious choice hence doing sport and history as well as empires.. decided to do lit cos Stef and Ishu encouraged me to do and did acting cos i liked theatre.. did psych cos i needed to fullfill the social science requirement.. now i'm torn between 2 schedules.. Nation building is confirmed.. i really want to do Singapore history.. and understanding the universe is confirmed (cos i'm doing it with shan) but the rest i really dunno.. i want to do certain modules but the schedules clash.. If i do world history, i cant do voice or singapore film.. hence must do praxis & performance theory.. if i do praxis, i cant do Asian american history.. well its actually more complicated and difficult to explain.. so to cut things short here are the 2 different module choices i have..

Ok .. looking at my last post I realise that I've got no life... A disney princess??? who cares??? Nat wake up !!!!!!!! about all the things u can blog about u talk about a disney Princess !!!!! arrgh..

ok anyway, my cough doesnt seem to be getting any better.. its like theres a spec of dust in my throat and i'm itching to get it out.. arrgh.. horrible.. anyways.. i cant wait for school to start.. these are 'hopefully' the modules i'll be doing next sem.. hope i dun get outbidded for anything..

Yes I know why bother doing Singapore history right? well I figured that it could be interesting and not dismiss it straight away.. besides knowing more about ur home doesnt hurt.. and Singapore film sounds really interesting.. the only odd ball is Understanding the universe.. Its a physics module and I din even do physics at o level.. well.. its basically learning about the stars, planets etc.. should be interesting.. am doing it with shan and gonna S/U it.. which means i just need to Pass and get a S-satisfactory grade in that and it wont be computed into my cap. ha.. I think this sem is gonna be great.. my modules dont sound too bad.. they r pretty interesting and i cant wait to see the newly built arts canteen.. ha.. all in good time.. all in good time..

Disney's Newest Princess..

Say Hello to Disney's Newest princess - Princess Giselle.. She's from the movie 'Enchanted' which is coming out this November.. I've attached the trailer below. The movie looks funny.. a typical disney movie though..

An interesting point to not is that this movie was made in honour of the previous Disney Princess movies...

Princess Giselle is a red head like Ariel from little mermaid

She can talk to birds and mice and they are her best friends like cinderella

She is banished from her land by an evil wicked queen in disguise as an evil witch (who also gives her a poisoned apple later in the movie) like Snow white

There is a dance sequence in 'Enchanted' with the guy she loves where she wears a yellow gown and the guy wears a blue suit to mimic the dance sequence between belle and the beast.

The evil queen turns into a dragon at the end for a final showdown like Maleficent in 'Sleeping Beauty'

What I've been up to....

1. Movies

Watched this like 2 weeks ago with Nicky.. wasnt that great.. wasnt that bad either.. was a pretty mediocre movie attached with much uneccessary hype. The silver surfer din look that good.. I dun understand why everyone seems to be in awe at the silver surfer.. yah.. and it had alot of cliched moments.. which made me go 'OK wow.. thats surprising !' *rolls eyes*

Watched this with Sang, viki, ashvin, Sang's dad, her aunt and cousin.. An unlikely group to be watching movie together.. ya.. but the movie was fantastic.. I was nvr really a fan of the cartoon as a kid.. but the movie was good..I really really liked it.. the even stevens guy acted really well in it.. but I thought the female lead was ugly.. haha.. anyways..Good movie.. Good effects.. Good acting.. I think its one of the best movies i've seen this yr..

Harry potter was a disappointment.. I guess because I've read the book, the movie was kind of a let down.. well it was better than the 4th movie, but I was unhappy that certain interesting parts that was in the book was cut away from the movie.. Umbridge, Bellatrix Lestrange, Luna Lovegood and the showdown at the ministry of magic at the end was excellent.. so in that way, the movie did justice to the book.. but certain plot developments were not explained in the movie and those who din read the book will be kinda lost or not get the whole story.. ya.. so there..

1st July was Youth Sunday at Epiphany.. It was good.. the youths put up stalls ('Pasar Pagi')after the service to raise funds for the building.. well I'll let the photos do the talking..

I Think I have a Problem..
Its 2 am and I'm blogging.. and I realised that my posts have many many grammatical errors.. my sister would usually be the one to point that out but my grammar has gotten so bad that it has become really obvious to me that there is something wrong with it. Perhaps its just poor coordination between my chain of thought and the way I express it by typing it down.. hmm.. or maybe its just the holidays, the lack of essays and other uni related work which is causing it to become this way.. Today in church, the kids behaved really badly (well maybe except for Jeremiah S) I was super annoyed and irritated with them.. they had comments for everything and it was just plain ANNOYING !!!! they never learn.. how many times must I tell them to not talk when I am talking and to be contented with what they have ... I cant believe that even dividing them into pairs was met with extreme opposition.. I had nicely planned a treasure hunt for them where they searched the church for the different good qualities of Barnabas .. When i divided them into pairs, that was when hell broke loose.. screams of 'aiyoh', 'him again' 'I dun want' 'Can i change partner' then followed.. I just started at all of them, with my arms folded.. Told Jeremiah to close in prayer and chased them out of the class.. I told them if they were not going to behave then TOO BAD !!!! no games for u kids.. I think they were shocked.. I rarely am strict with them.. but things are about to change.. I think I need to be more firm in the way I handle them.. till today i have been like a buddy buddy to which I think is causing them to take advantage of the buddy buddy relationship. Well, anyway I think that next week I would have fewer students.. they would probably choose to come for the morning sunday school to avoid coming for my class.. that was wat happened some time in April.. I got so angry with 2 of them and gave them a harsh talking to..then the next few weeks these 2 girls went for the morning sunday school to avoid me and they din even speak to me.. ha.. and to think they can show such an attitude at the age of 10, imagine what they would be when they grow up.. Ok I know its bad to bitch about children like that on my blog.. Its just a way of releasing the frustration I have in me..

Bought the Latest Hillsong Live worship series today at Bishan after having dinner at Cafe Cartel with Viki and Vikram.. As usual, the service sucked.. we waited 45 mins for our stuff.. Vikram got real angry.. he asked for a fork , it nvr came, he held his hand up for like 10 mins for a waiter.. but they did not come.. I think they pretended not to see.. yes.. Cafe Cartel has horrible service.. BUT.. I dunno why but we always always go there.. Cos the food is great.. anyways, back to the Cd.. Its kinda nice.. but I feel that Hillsong is kinda moving to the younger crowd with a tad too much rock influence.. what happened to the Good old days of Chorus singing and good melodies.. yup some elements of the 'old school' era are here but I would prefer more.. 'Blessed' is still their best Album yet.. followed by 'You are my world' & 'For this cause' .. I'm really a hillsong fanatic.. I have all their albums.. ha..

POST 92

Well.. today.. I cooked lunch/Dinner for the1st time Mom said it tasted great.. haha.. ya right.... and spent the whole afternoon cleaning the house.. felt like a housewife.. I even Gossiped with my cousin over the phone for like an hour. haha.. wat am i turning into ??? Still no internet at home.. at Naomi akka's house again.. later gonna watch harry potter.. hopefully its good..

YOUTH AFLAME

Haha.. i know I havent blogged for a really long long time.. this is so as the internet connection at my house DIED !!.. My Dad's fixing it at the moment... I'm at Naomi Akka's house doing my module preferencial exercise and realised how much i miss internet.. haha.. well Church has been really really fantastic.. its like after the youth camp everything seems super exciting.. praise God !! Its really encouraging to see the youths become more active in church.. and we have fun at the same time.. well.. last sunday we had a 'PAsar Pagi' in church (as it was youth sunday) where each group (from the youth camp - we decided to remain in the groups till the end of the year) set up a stall and sold lots of goodies in efforts to raise funds for the Church building planning thingy.. yah.. it was fun.. I forgot to bring the photos over.. will post them soon.. it was excellent. Today we had our youth service in the evening.. alot of the youths came.. it was really nice to have dinner togethe after the service talking loudly and joking with each other.. haha... like the olden days.. oh gosh I sound like some oldie. arrgh.. sadly ya.. I've become one of the oldest there .. well i dun mind.. its a wonderful feeling to have so many young people look up to me.. i was greatly encouraged when some of them shared certain stuff with me.. I felt like a big brother.. its a good feeling i tell u.. Ok off to watch ugly betty now.. byes..
