The Prince paints the cannon !

Ok so there is this cannon here at uni of guelph which sits in the middle of the university. Its the centre where students meet each other to sell their books, set up booths during all the many many campaigns here - save the trees, habitat building, stop child abuse, gay equality etc.. and also an area to sell stuff to raise money for charity or clubs.. yup.. but its tradition to paint the cannon.. almost every night different groups of students would gather in the wee hours in the morning to paint the cannon to make a statement for their campaigns, clubs or whatever reason they want.. So us exchange students decided to paint the cannon one night in the freezing temperature of -5 degrees.. i wore 8 layers of clothes so i was super warm.. haha here it goes..

So other than painting the cannon, we've been busy fighting and playing in the snow ! Omg I totally love the snow.. I dont get why the canadians dun seem to like it.. but its been snowing almost everyday and i'm not sick of it.. dont think i'll ever be... playing in the snow is soooo fun i tell u !! we had so many snowball fights and stuff.. more to come !!! snow is amazing ! One night it snowed rather heavily and we were walking across a field covered in snow with trees around us and a castle-like building in the distance.. i felt like i was in narnia man ! totally cool !

The Prince's Birthday !!!

So yes i havent updated in a long long while cos i've been busy with essays.. i'm down to my last one.. yippee !!! anyways.. yup turning 23 in Canada was great.. i had a good day..


This is where my day started, at Guelph's very own stone road mall.. haha.. I WENT SHOPPING !! WOOH !! bought awesome clothes for New year service cos mom told that we were all wearing blue.. haha.. then Laura and me had food and ice cream and we got really stuffed..

Then I met the usual gang - singapore/hongkong/fiji and we went for dinner at a greek restaurant.. oooh.. the food was really really really good.. totally yummy.. haha..

Omg the movie was hilarious !! totally hilarious... i love animated movies.. the animals were so cute.. but the star of the show was King Julien.. omg .. he was totally funny !!!! I laughed so loudly.. and the cinema was packed with kids.. i've never seen so many kids in Guelph before.. that was the first time where a place in guelph was super crowded.. haha..

so that was thurs.. 4 of us headed to toronto on fri and stayed there till sun to just visit the city.. it was pretty fun.. there were many many laugh out moments and we raided H&M together.. we love H&M.. the only downside was that it was raining quite badly and i got like totally wet walking on the streets.. i had to dry my coat with Cyrus's hairdryer.. but it was a fun trip... I had a good time.. we went to the ROM - royal ontario museum cos fri nights are half priced, being the cheapos that we were, then did alot of city stuff... hotdog eating, subway riding, shopping, dining out, music bars, chinatown, markets, camwhoring .. you get the picture..

The Prince is happier !!

ok so i realise why i was so upset yesterday.. itwas the 4000 word essay due tonight which was only 1000 word complete yesterday when i typed the last post.. anyways, this birthday is turning out to be something different.. haha. its longer !! cos of the wonderful time difference, people have been wishing me from 12th nov, 1130am canadian time.. all the smses, facebook wall posts, blog dedications, phone calls.. hahha.. it feels as though my birthday is extended !! well it is !! hahaha.. and the best part is that its only 9pm 12th nov now.. my birthday hasnt really started yet.. woot !

on a happier note, I FINISHED THE ESSAY ! omg.. such a relieve man.. only 2 more essays to go.. this is a record man.. this sem is the sem of essays !! 3 essay proposals, 2 take home mid term essays, 5 research essays, 1 film review take home essay that makes a total of 11 freaking essays/written assignments !!!! I'm all essayed out ! thats what you get for doing 5 history modules.. i learnt my lesson.. anyways, i watched Guelph's play production yesterday.. well not really their play production but it was a practical piece for 2 of their modules, a technical theatre course and a 3rd yr acting course.. the play was The Cenci by Percy Bysshe Shelley. well the play was kinda intense, its about murder, suffering and watching others suffer under oppression.. not quite what i was looking forward to given my essay predicament.. but theatrically, it was amazing.. I miss theatre.. cant wait to do theatre mods again.. I was amazed how they managed to convert an empty space, not built for theatre into a performance space. The sets were awesome.. all white and it looked amazing when shadows were cast on it to reflect the darkness and mystery of the play.. lights were good but i think some actors forgot their markings and some scenes were spoilt because of that. but overall the acting was good, costumes and make up were good and it was a good experience, just a bit intense for me and I was not in the mood. but job well done.

Ok the main reason why I decided to blog today is because like last year (spice girl parody video, check nov07 archives) someone made my day during my birthday this year.. Thank you so much Eazy.. this is a shout out to you.. reading ur blog post dedication to me brought tears to my eyes.. yes u mean alot to me as well.. GO FOR YOUTH FELLOWSHIP !!!!!

its gonna be an amazing birthday this yr.. i'll be positive about it !!

The Prince feels weird..

I cant describe the feeling I have now.. i guess that its sadness cos the birthday is a day away and i'm super far away from all the people i love and adore and want to spend it with.. I miss the mother so so so so much.. My parents have always made birthdays a big deal in our lives.. Mom always fusses about new clothes and good food and birthday cake during our birthdays.. makes it a big deal to celebrate it.. its my first birthday away from home and Its difficult to digest.. I guess its just the way i was brought up.. that birthdays are not just meant for kids.. birthdays mean something to my family.. its a time to celebrate.. an outlet of happiness.. a time when the family is together.. and this yr, thats not happening for me.. oh gosh I miss my family so much.. Its bad that i havent even seen what my niece looks like and now being away from them during a birthday, not a good feeling.. I guess that i'm not meant to be away from family... They are really important.. I'm gonna make some calls now.. i miss people too much.. sigh..

omg.. i just realised that i've been blogging here for 2 yrs.. wooh... awesome eh? anyways.. just got on the phone with the father.. omg.. had the most hilarious conversation with him ever !!!! nvr laughed so much while talking to him.. it was a first.. I miss home.. sigh.. but then i dont wanna leave guelph.. exchange has been so wonderful..

yes !! I've been cooking quite alot lately.. and I'm proud of myself.. i made beef curry and rice the other day and today i made chicken curry, rice and stir fried vegetables in oyster sauce today.. ooh.. haha.. anyway after a week of 20 degree afternoons, it got cold today.. but not that bad... it was 7 degrees... and i think i've gotten used to the cold.. with a scarf and something to cover ur ears, it makes u feel a whole lot better.. i'm going for some cuban live band thingy later.. should be awesome.. anyway, here are the pics of my cooking !

Oh and yesterday, the gang went out for dinner.. we went to this American diner kinda thing, sort of like Billy Bombers but a lot cheaper.. and I've always wanted to eat breakfast at these kind of diners cos you know, u always see people get coffee and eat bacon and eggs at diners in the movies, esp those old movies.. so thats wat i did.. i ate french toast for dinner ! hahahaha..

ok so i'm taking a break from doing my essays to bitch about the weather at Guelph, well not really bitch but ya.... ok so last sat I remember running from building to building in the freezing temperature of -5 degrees.. and on sunday night i ran from my house to Jon's in the really really cold temperature of 2 degrees.. and now on tues, two days later the temperature is 19 degrees !!!!!! he weather here is so unpredictable.. it was freaking snowing last tues.. and now its 19 degrees.. hahaha.. i think i'll wear berms to class later.. yays !!! It felt so hot outside just now.. my worry now is how to adjust to the 33 degree temperature of singapore when i get back.. I'll prob buy a pocket fan and carry it around with me wherever i go !!

The Prince at halloween !!!

Halloween was awesome.. I had so much fun.. people are really creative and go all out when it comes to costumes.. I ate so much candy that i was stuffed... really.. the first time i ate candy and chocolate for dinner.. hahaha.. and of course took lots of photos !!! I din have time to get a proper costume cos i was too busy with my countless essays so I decided to make do with what i had in my closet.. so I went as a walking fashion disaster.. hahaha.. the colours of were inspired by my good friend Ms Daphne Boey.. I was thinking of you when i put it on.. hahaha..
